The December issue of the Financial Market Overview has been published. This issue of the overview focuses on the stable position of financial companies and their ability to support economic development in Finland.

The overview shows that while the availability of funding has become difficult in many European countries, Finnish banks have continued to increase their lending. They have granted more loans to households and companies, which supports economic growth and employment.

The overview comments on the Commission proposal for a financial transaction tax, and takes a look at how the work on capital requirements regulation is coming along.
